NVIDIA and Intel to Develop AI Infrastructure and Personal Computing Products

Intel will design & manufacture tailor-made data center and client CPUs with NVIDIA NVLink technology and NVIDIA will invest $5 billion in Intel common stock. NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) today announced they will collaborate with the new goal of developing multiple generations of custom data center and client products that accelerate applications and workloads in the hyperscale, enterprise and consumer markets.

The companies will work on seamlessly connecting NVIDIA and Intel architectures with NVIDIA NVLink technology that combine NVIDIA's strengths in AI and accelerated computing capabilities with Intel's leading CPU technology and x86 ecosystem for cutting-edge solutions for customers.

For data center workloads, Intel will design and manufacture x86 CPUs customized by NVIDIA, which NVIDIA will use to integrate into their AI infrastructure platforms and ultimately sell as part of the solution.

For client product workloads, Intel will design and manufacture x86 system-on-chips (SOCs) incorporating NVIDIA RTX GPU chiplets to publicly sell. This means the new x86 RTX SOCs will be integrated into a variety of PCs that require premier CPU and GPU integration.
